ALOHA IS PLANTING
A CHURCH
Though some might ask, "Aren't there enough churches?" The simple answer is no, there aren’t. Lifeway Research found that “4,500 churches close their doors every year in the U.S. 3,000 new churches are planted each year in the U.S.” Additionally, it’s estimated that “8,000-12,000 new churches need to be planted annually to keep up with population growth and to outpace church closures.” ​
We believe that fulfilling the Great Commission is best done by starting more churches. Church planting is profoundly biblical, and as we see in the New Testament it was Paul's primary strategy for spreading the gospel. Nowadays the data shows us that new churches continue to be one of the very best ways to see brand new people begin following Jesus and be baptized into the family of God. Tim Keller says that, “The average church plant will bring six to eight times more new to faith people into the life of the body of Christ than an older congregation of the same size." We're confident that if we truly want to reach the lost, church planting is the best strategy.
